If the choccy binging over Xmas involved lots of cheap chocs like Quality Street, can I suggest lots of water and small amounts of good quality, lower sugar, dark chocolate instead? Same chocolate taste, but you need less of it. And it's much better for you than the sugary muck and as for a chocolate substitute.....Carob?.... The very idea.....
I've heard that taking certain B vitamins can reduce chocolate cravings. Haven't tried it though.
I agree with Kim. If you're addicted to 'chocolate' with low percentage of cocoa solids and higher percentage or sugar/fat (as in cadbury's or similar) then it might be the sugar you're addicted to, not the chocolate.
Athley honey if you find "a product that tastes like chocolate but isn't" you will be a very rich lady :)

Kim & Daisy yes I must confess to scoffing mostly rubbishy chocs such as Cadburys Heros, Roses etc and contents of selection boxes. Oh they are evil monsters making such yummy trash!!!

BBW - right your mission is to work on a recipe for something that tastes like chocolate but isn't - I felt sure you would have something but you're right how rich would we be if that was the case.

I'm usually quite good and maybe have a square or 2 of Green and Blacks so try and get back into that habit!!!

Thanks all!!

I heard on the radio that if you put those soft dates in the freezer, they taste like toffee chocolate. I am wondering how to separate them when they are frozen though ..

Thanks smurfchops will give that a try I like dates. Maybe if they are frozen on a tray individually then bagged when frozen they will stay separated.
