looking for some inspiration, its my wee girls 1st birthday party on Sat, and im a bit stuck as to what kind of food to do, there wont be too many other kids there(about 6 i think) mainly adults and the party is in the house, ive obviously thought about sandwiches, sausage rolls, fairy cakes etc for munching but was wondering if anybody else has some good ideas that will keep the kids amused and give the adults a chuckle too. TIA Fiona

Could you let them make their own wraps?

Small flour tortilla.
Mayo or whatever they like.
Lettuce
Sliced deli turkey or sliced deli ham.
Sliced cheese.
Roll it up and cut it diagonally - or leave it whole if they prefer it that way.

They like being in control :)
They like to frost their own cupcakes too. If you provide the cupcakes and a selection of icing/frosting and things to sprinkle on top - different colors of crystal sugar, colored sprinkles, coconut, nuts, sour candy, etc.
cheese or fruit scones
banana
yogurt
jelly
blancmange
jam tarts
apple pie

of course you are aware of the fact that you shouldn't give little ones nuts as suggested by BBWCHATT. I couldn't believe that!!
Enjoy the party

Masterchef
Masterchef - I assumed they would know if any of the children had a food allergy of any kind - nuts included. And I also gave them credit for being intelligent enough to know they would be chopped small enough for sprinkling on top of a cupcake.
Nuts are a no-no for any small children, they are a choking hazard!!
Masterchef - go ahead and have the last word - apparently it is very important to you - the only one I have is that I am a Mother and a Grandmother - and haven't killed a child yet!!!
Be really retro and do a kids theme for all.....jelly in those paper cases and choc cornflake cakes. I've never met anyone who doesn't like kid's party food.

Alternatively you could do a grown up version for the adults....vodka jellies, sausages with chilli dip, smoked salmon sandwiches etc

keep it simple and familiar-children dont want to experiment with food much. Dont serve too much food as they wont be eating that much, they will rather play.
