I read yesterday that Bovril plan to reintroduce its new original Beef variety and will be dropping the yeast based version which apparently never proved very popular. This news comes in the nick of time. My husband was just scraping the bottom of his last jar of carefully hoarded Beef flavour. By the way, are Bovril and Marmite manufactured by the same company?

the jat of bovril in my cupboard says made by Bestfoods and the jar of marmite says made by unilever bestfoods, so i think so,

You poor sad soul! Still we can't all enjoy the same things, thanl goodeness

I wrote to Bovril and complained about the cessation of real Bovril production and its replacement with "Bovmite" and had a letter from some Marketing Luvvie to tel me it was in rresponse to customer demand. Guess what, the press release says it is being brough back as a result of......Customer demand and falling sales of bovmite!

Result!

I got my first jar of the returned Beef variety yesterday. Good job otherwise would have been reduced to making it from Bovril cubes!!

Sad or what?!!!
