I'm just the same saxo-boi, i have to have my chocolate from the fridge otherwise it is sickly and horrible. I don't enjoy it one bit if its remotely melted or just soft and especially in this weather it needs to be nice and cold!
I think it's harder to eat quantities of chocolate when it's not crisp and (possibly) chilled, because the fat component feels claggier in the mouth when it's slightly melty - the cheaper chocolate bars (less than 30% cocoa solids and loads of sugar and other nasties) are the worst for claggieness (is that a word?). Some often have vegetable oil and palm oil in, which doesn't help. More expensive chocolate (mmm! 70%+ mmmm!) doesn't have that effect, in my experience.
clagginess is a fantastic word Kim!!!! We must endeavour to use it more often in my opinion!
The best chocolate in the world is Lindt !!!!!! That makes me feel sick but purely because once i start on it, i find it hard to put it away again!!!!! YUMMY!!!!
I cant eat any chocolate in hot weather, makes me feel sick with a pounding bad head. Kay
