How to make a newly opened milk carton pour properly?
7 Answers
I buy 1 litre cartons of semi skimmed longlife milk from the supermarket (yes I know but I actually prefer it to fresh). When I've just opened one, it seems almost impossible to pour any milk out without it glooping all over the table, dribbling down the sides of the carton, and generally doing anything other than pouring nicely and neatly. Once about a fifth of the milk is gone, it pours okay. Why is this? What can be done about it? If someone has a suggestion I'd like to know, or else I'll have to track down the designer of these cartons and immerse their head in a bucket of milk as punishment for annoying me.

Then snip the end of it off with some scissors - The milk should pour out nicely - failing that - do the same and pour it out of the hole you've just snipped. The milk gloops because the milk coming out and the air that replaces it are both going through the same hole - a bit of milk out then a bit of air in. Someone showed me this when I had the same problem with a tin of Carnation milk.
