there seem to be some websites that say myth that is stays in your stomach for up to 7 years and others that say it is true - check out this link which seems to give both sides of the debate!

I heard its actually good to swallow your gum as while you chew you make acid in your stomach swallowing prevents it from burning your stomach lining...but you hear so many things these days who knows wats true??

I was always told as a kid that it stuck to your heart.


The same person told me that holding a sneeze in made your brains come out of your ears...

Hi coxyefc, It sure beats chucking it on the sidewalk !!
My daughter is studying biology in 6th form and comes out with true facts. One fact is that chewing gum DOES stay in the stomach for up to 6-7 years and is not good for you.
