Is it worth having an air fryer if my oven is on, I may as well put everything in there at once, especially when cooking for 4 people

Pros and Cons please.

It depends what you're cooking I suppose, but if I'm using the oven I don't use the air fryer, not much point really.

Pro: versatility

Con: Cost

I was astounded to see three different Ninja air fryers in a neighbour's kitchen.  She also has a built in double oven and a combi microwave.

She said she doesn't use the ovens any more as the air fryer is much cheaper but as she can't cook everything in one at the same time so often has the three on the go.  That has got to cost more than throwing it all in the main oven - plus the cost of buying the very expensive in the first place.

I just nodded.

If your oven is on, use that and don't use the air fryer.

Admirable restraint Barry. Not sure I could have managed it 😁

I laughed all the way home, quietly.

These airfryers took up nearly all the space on her worktop.

My oven costs nothing like the amounts quoted in the media in the airfryer v oven airfryer articles.   I don't know if it's extra insulated because it is pyrolytic or if the media has been exaggerating the costs of a standard oven.

My electricity usage has gone down considerably since I got my ninja dual air fryer. There are only three of us and most things can be cooked in it. I only put my oven on for large roasts and when I do make the most of it by cooking pies and things I can freeze.
