On Ch4 now, started at 8.

I never really liked shop bought ice cream until Haagen Dazs and Ben & Jerry's came along. I did love the creamy ice cream cone from a van though....99 flake.

Real dairy ones like Mackies and Kelly's Cornish are so much nicer I think.

What are you favorite(s)?

Graham's Salted Caramel.
Dumpy's Rusty Nuts
Alder Tree ice cream is made just down the road from me and sold in the lovely farm shop there. Any of their range is absolutely delicious but, just like much of the stock in the farm shop, only a special occasion' treat for me:

The ice cream that's always in my freezer (and gets used several times per week) though is Kelly's Clotted Cream variety:

For a product made by a big international company, it's a really good product!!

(Kelly's is owned by Froneri, who also own or make products for Mövenpick, Häagen-Dazs, Nuii, Nestlé, Cadbury's and many others).
New Forest
Mackies is lovely and Kelly's Cornish also very good. However, there are two Italian ice cream makers where I live. Lewis's which is my favourite, Brucciani's mum's favourite (still very nice) and we have a recent addition (not Italian but a fairly local farm) Wallings, which is also very good. None are particularly cheap but any would do as a treat occasionally.
I doubt there is any ice cream I would ever refuse! Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, bring it on;-)
Forgot to say I also like Viennetta. With cream.

I wasn't too keen on Viennetta and I could never slice it without making a mess. Also, I don't like the chocolate flavour in it or any other chocolate coated ice cream (magnum!).
If I can remember correctly - another home made ice cream - DWAYNES - simply divine.
Aldi do a four pack of shop local Magnum which are excellent, can't recall the name I'm afraid but they hit the spot.
dougie - we don't have Aldi - but would you call your wee magnums Aldi by any chance LOL
Never mind, j-j, Morrisons do a similar product but only three to a box, I'm a trained bargain hunter.
Crosta & Mollilca are divine. (Not cheap, though.) Waitrose used to stock Darlish, a lovely Persian-style ice cream, but the last place I saw it was at Hatfield House, where they have a shop.

I don't like bits of pieces of biscuit etc in my ice creams though.
sorry, that should have been Mollica
Question Author
I've never heard of New Forest, Dwaynes or Crosta & Mollica. Are they specific regional ice creams?
I think Crosta & Mollica is an Italian brand...I've seen it on pizza and breads.
Crosta & Mollica are in the Clapham region

I've only tried the ice cream
Here we go

My daughters Italian partner thinks their pizzas are ok, so they must be good ;)
Question Author
Thanks both. I've never seen that brand. If its only available in Waitrose that's probably why.
Crosta and Mollica products are available in many supermarkets
https://www.crostamollica.com/where-to-buy
but they're mainly ingredients for Italian meals. However there are a few gelatos and tartufis in the list here:

New Forest ice cream is stocked by some retailers but you're possibly more likely to encounter it within the catering trade:
