Our local safeway was always a few pence up on items even in other Safeways in the area! When it changed to Morrisons the thing I liked was that most if not all of Morrisons prices are printed within the packaging design and there was no scope for increasing it. Morrisons was cheaper, but our store seemed to lack all the selection. Within 6 months it has now become Somerfield, so I think it was never Morrisons intention to keep it.

I can best answer your question like this Marky...

Safeways could always be relied upon for quality meat, veg and fruit, good wine, full shelves, helpful and polite staff. Last week I went in to Morrisons to an empty meat counter, a few sad veggies and when I reached up to get a yogurt the 'assistant' almost pushed me out the way and said "Do you mind, I'm trying to fill the shelf" Enough said!!!

My Safeways turned into a Morrisons now they have shut it down.
