This just looks overly processed to me. We all know that processed foods are extremely low in essential nutrients compared to whole unprocessed foods.

Is a diet of processed plant based ingredients sustainable?

Most transition foods for veggies and vegans are overly processed. Just because they don't contain meat doesn't mean they're healthy.

Have you compared the nutrients to a 'normal' mince?
Processed foods have less nutrients than fresh, frozen or canned.
I can't see anything.

It seems Retrocop hasn't eaten his carrots!

I've never made a comparison nutrient to nutrient, no Rockrose. You would assume plant based mince would have more vitamins and minerals though.

Is that true Dannyk13? I didn't know they were worse than frozen and canned also, but makes sense!

Now I see a link. Isn't this just Quorn basically in another package?
34% fat is far too high.

I agree Dannyk13, I would never buy mince with more than 20% fat let alone 30+. I always buy 5% even though it's more expensive.

But of course, plant fat is a different type I think.

Thanks for taking the time to do that, RR.

Retrocop - "Now I see a link. Isn't this just Quorn basically in another package?"

Yes, more or less. Quorn makes more sense because it's chunked like Tofu would be. The idea of mince creeps me out. I'm not sure why a lot of people would prefer the idea of minced plants than minced cow but not me.
TD, Minced turkey is a reasonable substitute for beef mince.I use it regularly, even in a chilli con carne.
The nutrients will depend on what the mince is made of. Quorn is made from a myco protein that comes from a mushroom or fungus if I'm not mistaken. Soy products are also used a lot in manufactured products. There has been debate about how safe it is based on its effect on, I think, hormones but that is inconclusive.
Most plant based products have far less protein when compared to meat weight for weight
