I've decided to pack up early. Sadly it is freezer roulette for me for tonight.

But I am cooking braised steak au poivre, boulangere spuds and a red velvet cake for us for tomorrow (I have a long and busy day tomorrow so cooking is out of the question and Mr BM is poorly).

What are you all having on this bitter winter's day?

mozzarella cheese, tomato and balsamic glaze
Left over pot roast brisket and dumplings.
Chicken tikka masala and egg fried rice.
Made a rich beef casserole at weekend,so a portion of that and a handful of chips cos I'm tired and sore.

Comforting.
Lamb koftas inside arabic bread with purple onion, leaves, tomato and a dollop of houmos

Lol, I fancy all of those!
Probably faggots and sprouts.
Stir fry pork with Choi, beansprouts, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrots, spring onions , skinny noodles in oyster sauce.... lemon mousse...and ferreros !
Oh dear..what's happened mamy ?

Slightly off topic but I saw these in Morrisons today and wondered if anyone had tried them and the best method of cooking?
I made a huge pot of spicy butternut squash soup this morning, which we had a bowl of for lunch, just the job on a freezing cold day.
Was going to do stuffed portobello mushrooms with an egg on top and sweet potato wedges for this evening but have gone off the idea so it'll probably be another bowl of soup and probably beans on toast.
What's up mamy, why tired and sore?
Look good Margo..never had them ..think I'd steam
I've just finished making the filling for 'Mum's Pasties' (that's what my kids called them) and it is cooling prior to being wrapped in pastry. Very similar to Cornish pasties, but no-one can say I've done it wrong!
Ooh, never had them Margo but really fancy trying them.
Just a glass (or two) of beer. I started lent 10 days early, and it's going to be a long 50 day pull.
As for the kalettes I would pour some boiling water in a pan add the kalettes and put a lid on and just lightly boil but almost steam them - more water than just steaming though as they can be a bit tough
Just had a quick look and it say steam, lightly boil or stir-fry. I'll get some tomorrow (weather permitting) and let you know how I get on. Not sure I'd like them as I'm not a huge fan of kale but I like to try new things
Oxtail casserole , it's been in the slow cooker for 12 hours.
Thanks for input Minty, Ethandron and Islay :-)
I've tried Kalettes and wasn't overly impressed - give me spring greens any day.
