Planned on making the legendary ragu.

Went shopping, forgot to pick up a head of celery.

Get home to find the beef and pork mince were actually beef and lamb mince.

It has been bubbling gently for three hours and the difference is noticeable.

I wouldn't mind but I have made a vat of the stuff and it's not up to scratch.

I will take myself away and kick my ass :-(

Other more reliable translations are probably available...

Captain and LiK may get a slap or a hug depending on my mood after serving supper! ;-)
I'm with LiK - I've got my knife, fork, spoon and bib ready - just waiting for the call
Nooooo :( You can have a hug from me :)
Hugs are for wimps. I have wine........
Ha....I can't top that... :D
here's a hug, here's some love, now suck it up wack in some chilli and ignore the startled looks
Removing celery from a recipe can only be a good thing.
The lamb/pork substitution, does it really make a massive difference ? It's all good meat.
Yeah OG, the lamb will definitely make a difference - I do really get where Eccles is coming from. And celery is marvellous as a base in so many things.

//Suck it up and whack in some chilli....// - I have had to read that several times so I can do it without laughing.

Fingers crossed himsel is oblivious and I'll just have to deal with my disappointment.

OG, I am intrigued by your vehement hatred of veg and salad! Where you abused by a cauliflower as a child?
Lol Barmaid, I have just re read what I wrote and it does come across differently from what I meant!
No, it is a cross I bear. I have the misfortune of working taste buds. It has cursed me all my life.
PS Cauliflower is fine, as long as it is cooked properly. Works even better with cheese.
Will some chocolate help?
90%...
With cauliflower?
Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha.
Oops, sorry, did I say that out loud? ;)
