Instead of the usual cabbage/lettuce to make a glorified salad/coleslaw, could one replace this with red cabbage? Just thought of a change (said the Bishop ...).
_Thank you.

Yes, I always use red cabbage. You can also use celeriac.
^ Or a bit of both for a variety of flavours!
Yes to both of the above answers.
I add a finely chopped small apple and a good handful of raisins to mine sometimes. It's sounds sweet, but is actually very tasty.
I like that. I'll try it.
Just don't use it in a stew, especially a long slow one.I did that once and it turned the stew bright purple. My OH eat it,but I couldn't face it.Much like if you eat globe artichokes raw(why you would I don't know, but some people do)it will turn your teeth purple, and it lasts about 3 weeks, even with vigorous brushing!

An alkaline diet is also said to cause the metastasis of cancer cells, which can't be a bad thing. I've tried this test and mine was around the colour of number 7!
I have a download on Bicarbonate of Soda which explains it all much better than I can, but not sure how to post it on here. I'll have a go!
