Why don't manufacturers make lemon icecream anymore?
Years ago Tesco made it, it was so nice and tangy, a real refreshing treat - then it was suddenly discontinued .... no reason given!
We then found a delicious lemon meringue icecream at Asda, their own brand. Lemon sauce swirled through vanilla icecream and pieces of broken meringue in it too. It was constantly flying off the shelves and often out of stock it was so popular! Guess what? that was discontinued too .......
I wonder why the major manufacturers don't make it - lemons are quite plentiful. I don't really like lemon sorbet, it's not really the same as lemon icecream.

I have been looking for Lemon Roulade for ages too but it seems not to be available anywhere these days. Odd that.

Yuzi? Never heard of that one bednobs but thanks I will look out for it. Who stocks it please? I looked at all the Hagen Daas varieties today in Morrisons and Sainsburys and didn't see that one.

I do have an old icecream maker but the bowl has to be frozen overnight and it takes up so much space - my freezer is always full to the brim!

Sorry Ann, having looked again I think that might be an old link because I have just searched on Iceland'site and no results were found. They must have discontinued it as well
Question Author
Seems very strange (and fishy?) why all the lemon ones are suddenly discontinued when lemony desserts are so popular these days? I love all things lemony - lemon meringue, lemon drizzle cake, lemon curd, lemon jelly etc etc .....
Tiptree do a lemon curd icecream that seems to be available in a few places
>>>Tiptree do a lemon curd icecream that seems to be available in a few places

. . . including Waitrose and some branches of Tesco, at £4.99 for 500ml.
Tesco sell a Sicilian Lemon Curd Ice Cream, in their 'Finest' range, at £3.00 for 500ml (or 2 for a fiver).
