can anyone tell me how much you would expect to buy a shot of baileys for in a local pub and what the measure of it would be?

good evening mate......as a nightclub manager i can tell you that bailleys should cost between 2.50 and 3.20 at pub prices...and is served in 50ml measures (thats a double to you and me) and should not be served in a 25ml measure as it is priced as such that it is sold in 50ml measures or multiples thereof...hope this answers your question.
smithsab is right. You should also note that although it is normal for baileys to be sold as a double measure, it is not illegal for any other measure to be sold (as many seem to believe), unless of course you state that a double measure is your standard.

thankyou i thought so just needed it to be confirmed i recently went in our local and ordered a double baileys and was charged 10.00 the bar person tried to tell me that its 2.50 per shot but has to be served as a double ie making it 5.00 per single 50ml but i previously worked in a bar myself and tried to argue the fact out but was told just to pay!!!!

That's outrageous, I15a27 !!

I'd agree that it should be served in 50ml measures, but some ignorantly serve it in 25ml.

If 2.50 is the price of a 'measure', then the 'double' you asked for is two 'measures' - costing a fiver.

Whether he thought a 'measure' was 25ml or 50ml the cost should still be a fiver (although you'd get less if he thought the former). This clown obviously didn't have a clue what he was doing.
