100g pudding rice
75 g caster sugar 10 g butter
1litre milk
15omls of cream
heat butter on top of stove, add rice and sugar and stir together. Add cream and milk, bring to a simmer, put in oven on 140 c for 1.5 - 2 hrs
^^ As bednobs says...and remember to use pudding rice. VERY important.

Thank you.
Is semi skimmed milk ok bednobs? And the all important question - does it form a lovely skin on top?
I find the key is to wash the rice in a pan of boiling water on the hob for a few mins before cooking, it stops it turning too stodgy!
I suppose it's a personal choice but for me, for rice pudding, I would use whole milk.
I LOVE the skin on a rice pudding .Best part.
full fat milk, rocket, Jersey if you can get it
When you make it, let us know and we'll all be round your place asap. Well, you have to have "tasters" don't you?

Thanks everyone :0)
I have pudding rice - that sounds like great tip ratter.
I only have semi skimmed, but have double cream. Could I reduce the amount of milk, and use more cream does anyone think?

Sounds good to me!!
Question Author
Thanks ratter - I'll give it a good go.
I wouldn't bother mucking about, follow the advice here -it just might not be as creamy

go with what you've got, get a success under your belt and try whole milk next time

cheers for that HS.
Open tin with the tin opener of your choice, then pour contents into a microwavable bowl.

Check the instructions on the tin regarding how long and at what power the microwave needs to run. Put bowl (with loose or vented microwavable cover) into the microwave oven.

Set the controls to be as stated on the tin, press start, then wait.

When the bell rings remove the bowl, take off it's lid, insert spoon.

Enjoy.

Foolproof, yes. Desirable, no. Thanks anyway OG!
Not sure that counts as a "recipe" ^^^^
And patience it does take time
Use tinned evaporated milk (ie Carnation) instead of fresh milk and grate loads of nutmeg on top for a lovely, tasty skin.
