Do you have either or both of these, if so, what are they like?
The eggs in/out of fridge discussion has been done to death so I'm only really interested in what people who DON'T store eggs in the fridge keep them in.
I currently have a pine drop front bread bin and a pine egg rack, both of which are years old and waaay past their best, not to mention very dated, so as we're decorating the kitchen and having a clear out I'm contemplating buying new up to date ones.
Not having even looked at what's available for years I wonder what's 'fashionable' and serviceable these days.

I don't have an egg rack but do have a nice large cream oval earthenware bread bin with a wooden top - but we never put the bread in it, just pile it up on top!
I keep mine in the box they came in.
bread's kept in a giant tupperware in the pantry, and my eggs are stored in one of these....

I have a pantry so keep my eggs and bread in there.

If I didn't have the pantry I would keep them in a cupboard to try and minimise the effect the change in temperature has.

BOO, I have one of those ceramic hens and keep left over foreign coins in it, never actually thought of putting eggs in. Don't they crack easily?
The eggs crack in 'em? Well I imagine they would if you give it a good shake whilst the eggs are in it, but I tend not to do that ;-)

Prudie, I really like the ceramic ones, also old fashioned looking enamel ones, just been googling around.
Question Author
How many eggs fit in it BOO?

I'd love a pantry.
Actually, I'm not the best to answer this. The only things I have on my worktops is a utensil pot and a kettle.

Everything else is in a cupboard.
I usually put a dozen at a time in no problem, gotta say I love me chicken, very kitsch and it makes me smile each time I see it.

And yes, it's the small things which amuse me :-)
I've found most bread bins are too small, they hold one loaf and that's it. I still use a large stainless steel bin which is probably unfashionable but it's huge !!

Thanks for the link barsel, it does work :)
I've been looking at dunelm mill too, they have hundreds, think I need a trip there.
We don't eat much bread Vulcan so only need a smallish one.
When I was younger the bread bin was used for 'stuff'

A typical conversation...

Have you seen the screw driver?

Have you checked the bread bin?
Lol @ ummmm. In our house it was the biscuit barrell x
or 'what have you got me for Christmas?'
'Not telling'
'well would it fit in a bread bin?'
Question Author
Our 'stuff' could always be found in the glory hole.

Any more egg rack suggestions?
I didn't know that anybody these days had bread bins and/or egg racks.
