When writing a letter in open office and hitting the enter key the cursor is leaving a space big enough for another line.
What have I changed to make it do this and how do I rectify it please?

I'm not familiar with OpenOffice but, assuming it's similar to other word processing applications, I would look at the paragraph and line spacing settings and see if you have it set to insert an extra line at the end of each paragraph.

Hm, thanks jeffa, but I'm not sure how to do that. I haven't, to my knowledge, changed anything. It was working perfectly yesterday!
Some easy to read info please!
Isn't there a help system with it, or manual in PDF form?

Ta muchly, I'll read thru that.
Hi, Try this:-
When in Open Office, Click FORMAT (top menu), Click PARAGRAPH, on next page leave all data values at 0.00, Change LINE SAVING to "Single", Click OK.
Hope this helps.
here's another way, if it's word 2007, try this, click on "change styles" then "style set" then "2003" - that says make it like 2003, ie before the employed the ministry of annnoying software to make all the defaults what no one in their right mind would want.

Sorry for taking so long to answer.
It was indeed 'styles'. I had copy & pasted a line and it had changed the styles. I changed it back and all is ok now.
