The shop is so badly set out. They mix up the frumpy with the trendy. I bought a really nice top from there not so long ago but I only spotted it as I was walking out.
agree with treetops. especially childrens clothes. the quality became appalling. noth withstanding the fact that seams unravelled after half a dozen washes. not good.
I believe M&S went downhill years ago when they started trying to keep up with the trendy shops for the younger generation instead of what they used to be for middle aged and older classes. They have 'throw away' stuff now rather then good lasting quality. I always shopped then when the quality was good, I don't now unless I spot something on my way through to the food section. They will be the next to shut down. Spend any vouchers you may have before the inevitable happens!!!
I absolutely agree! The colours this season are awful for a start and many of the 'styles' are really dreadful.
Ok, they're good for undies but not much else.
They never set the womans clothes out properly. A mannequin could be wearing a gorgeous blouse and its nowhere in the store!! I agree the underwear is still fab and on trend.
My Uncle has shopped in M&S for many years and never faults the clothes.
M&S has never been a Go To shop for me. Many moons ago it was a reliable shop for wardrobe staples but when it started putting price ahead of quality I lost interest.
It is somewhere I buy a sandwich and a packet of Percy Pigs, nothing else.
I agree with you. There was a time when I went into Marks I wanted almost everything I saw. Now I rarely like anything. I know I am an oldie but although I don't want to dress like a youngster I don't want their Classic range either. I think they have lost their way and no amount of celebs will sell the clothes for them until the styles alter.
I call in for a take away salad at lunchtime or a birthday card, but I gave up looking at the clothes many years ago. Oh except underwear which i replace when i need to but get frustrated by the poor fit.
The stock in our local M&S is dire, but I thought it reflected what they thought people here were like - so I was dismayed when I went to Brighton last week, and found the same pallid stuff on sale there too. Very disappointing.
