I'm making one of these for tomorrow, would it be ok to make the pastry and line the pie dish today?

Don't see why not . I would cover it with foil.
What's that? Do you actually put the pastry over the crumble?
well spotted coccinelle. yes crumble does go on the top. Maybe it is meant to be pie lol

It's a pastry base with a crumble topping, no pastry on top. Best of both worlds I reckon.

Sounds good. Ive never made one like that before. Ive only ever made either a crumble or a pie.

Never made one myself either Georgiesmum, thought I'd give it a whirl. I want to get as much prep out of the way today as I won't have time tomorrow.

Yes, I do it all the time, I even bake the pie crust the day before for key lime pie.

It turned out well Georgiesmum, it all went so presumably a success. I never tried it mysef as I was busy scarfing down the Crunchie pavlova. :)
