I tried this question in shopping last week, but no answers as yet so maybe parenting is better??

Has anyone got a Micralite Fastfold with newborn carrycot & car seat? I have a bad back & like the idea of it being extra light, easy to fold & compact when folded. I will be using my car a lot when baby comes, so not wanting a pram that would be too heavy.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I have seen this same question for a while now, I will try. I havent acturally had one of this, but if you are using your car and you have a bad back then a compact, light buggy is best. I have seen this on the net its suppose to be easy folding, have you try this in a shop? Check it out in a shop. Is no good if you cant get it up/down with ease. Can you leave the car seat in the car (back prob.)? Or do you have to get it in and out of the car for the buggy? If you can leave it in is a lot easier. Pram is definitely no, its too big and heavy, you wont use it, waste of money.

sorry Tiggster I haven't heard about this particular one.   I'd agree with Jean that you should try it out before you buy it......a friend had a similar problem due to lack of mobility in one arm, and after trying a few, she found a buggy that she could fold and lift with relative ease.  Some have rather convoluted catches that have to be undone to allow it to fold.  Lifting a baby in a car seat is not easy....it's amazing how much the combined weight can be - they grow so fast!    So, since you have a bad back, it may be easier to leave the car seat in the car when possible (tho not ideal if baby is sleeping, I know.)

Cheers for your input. I do like the look of this pushchair mainly for the fact it's light, foldable with 1 hand & it looks good too. We've look at prams & they are way too heavy, but this one has a lightweight carry cot also.

I wanted to know before trailing 60+ miles to the nearest stockest if anyone loved/hated it.
