Nay!
or even neigh.
You chuck it my way.
Eat it for 2 reasons. One it is probably not horse. Second reason is that horse wont actually do anything to you. The French eat it. And we have all been busy eating it in all these things that are getting withdrawn now!
well considering that the horse meat has found its way into everything from waitrose to burger king, I would be a little suss..

But there may be some animal medicine in the horses that can do harm ( todays news). I bet the veggies are having a good laugh at us.
no need to chuck it, horse mean isnt harmful and is eaten frequently in europe.
I see the meat content of Findus Lasagna is said to be 100% horse. Neigh harmful additives there.
i think M&S stuff will be ok nothings been mentioned about them has it
Hi I am vegetarian and I think this whole this is a little bit rediculous. Not you by being concerened about this but the big uproar it has caused.
What is the difference between a horse and a cow? We can ride a horse and therefore chose not to eat it. Instead rather force it to run around a track. Cows feel the same pain and have the same level of self awareness as a horse. they just cant gallop around and carry humans. They care for their young in the same way. Cattle are given drugs just as much as horses are actually probably more so.
What is the difference between eating cow meat and horse meat from a meat eaters point of view? From mine it doesnt make the slightest difference.

cazz, the difference is horse meat eaten in Europe is safe for human consumption.
Who knows where this rogue horse meat has come from? Is it free from disease or medicines that cannot be used for animals intended to be in the food chain?

its the dishonesty, not the fact that it is horse, but the fact that we have been deceived. it also begs the question, what other little "tricks" are going on in the food industry..?
honeydip, I will eat any sort of meat that is raised for food and has passed rigourous tests.
According to some reports, it isn't the horse meat itself that's causing the fuss. It's the phenylbutazone that's injected into horses, and which might be in the meat that gets on to our tables, that is the danger.
I agree hc
hc. Good point but if they dont even know its horse meat then I am pretty sure they dont know where it has come from in the first place horse meat or not?
Its not that horse meat will harm you , its that any animal thats is killed for meat is inspected by the health officers who work in the slaughter houses early morning its a full time job, they are there to rubber stamp the meat as having no nasty hillness before it goes for sale to the public, if it don't pass the test it goes to the fire.
I wouldn't hc. You may raise as many bugs & maggots as you wish for food, but I'll stick to my usual fare.
I don't think you can be sure about anything you haven't cooked yourself with ingredients that you can guarantee are what they say they are. A lot of peopl aren't really fussy and don't really question what they are eating as long as it's cheap enough which is how these things get to happen in the first place. I'm pretty sure just because it's only just been discovered doesn't mean it's only just happened either.
im haivng hot dogs for dinner, i don't want to know how they came about....
