anyone know why burger king is called hungry jacks in australia?

It's because of a trademark dispute with another fast food outlet already called Burger King in Australia.

I always wondered that as well... bit of an odd name to choose though from Burger King to Hungry Jacks...

Jack Cowlin (name not spelt right), bought the right to franchise his own buisness, "Hungry Jacks" in Australia using burger king recepies paying royalties every now n then to burger king
