I've got a really itchy left hand and always heard it's "left to leave, right to receive".

I'm being disagreed with!

Can anybody clear this up, please?

My old gran used to say:

Left to leave, right to receive
Scratch it on wood, sure to come good

That's what I'm being told, Sandy, but I thought it was the other way round.
left to receive unless you're left handed and don't scratch it.
As Markrae says. Left to leave...which I've always assumed means money to leave you. Right to receive.
I think it was Irish superstition, left to receive. But I'm outvoted 2-1 just now
