What is the best meat and chicken marinade you've tasted?

Do you have a marinade that you like to rustle up to wow your guests? What is it as i'm having meat or chicken tomorrow.
Does anyone use buttermilk? What exactly does it bring to the culinary table?

When I saw the first few words of the title in the Latest Posts box I feared it was going to be another What is the Best Restaurant in Australia question.
You're having meat OR chicken, I always thought chicken was meat.
What are you having with it- potatoes and veg or rice
2 parts tomato ketchup
1 part soy sauce
1 part soft brown sugar
1 part Golden syrup.

Add (from) finely chopped onion, garlic, chilli, ginger, lime zest and/or juice....or anything you want
My favorite marinade comes right from the Weber booklet; I call it "Marinade for Chicken" but I think it works better for steak.
