How many loaves of bread?

Got 31 children for a sixth birthday party tomorrow and can't decide what would be a sensible amount of sandwiches to make. I always make too much food but don't want to look tight. I have baby sausages, sausage rolls, crisps, party rings and fairy cakes. Do you think three loaves of bread will be enough? (PS - I have ditched the healthy option as it never gets eaten and it is a party so it's meant to be fun!) Thanks.

more than enough sher!............I would go with two loaves!........they'll want to get onto the sweet stuff asap!.............
just another thought sher!.........maybe make three, the parents will probably be peckish too!.....Sure if you say 'tuck in too' they will!.....lol......

Thanks welsh, boy #1 has made me promise he can have his food before the younger ones touch any of it - he is convinced that they are riddles with germs!

Hi Welsh - should be good, just a bit concerned as we usually have a bouncy castle thing (from a man in the village) but madame wanted a disco so it's someone we haven't used before (hope he bl00dy turns up).
31 little kids. Two slices of bread each...plus a few extra 'just in case'

No Jelly and icecream? :-(

don't be worrying sher, give him a call in the morning to confirm the time and venue!........Should be fine!.........wish I was there!.......Love kids birthday bashes!.....enjoy!...

I think the food part should be banned - they don't eat it and it causes hassle for parents as it usually in-between meals. They won't get their food till 3.30, so its not lunch or tea. (Eddie - I bought the sausage rolls because mine love them as a treat - they could eat the ones I have by themselves.)
Oh sher, not to worry!.....as you said, it's not lunch or tea, more of a snack really, so treat it as such!....just a few sandwiches and bit and bobs!.......Be fine!.............They'll be too excited to eat lots mostly!............
I still want to know why no jelly and ice cream??

I have found that children do eat sandwiches at parties. Mine certainly did...

Mine have never been to a party with jelly and ice cream, maybe its because you have to take all the stuff to the village hall? Or maybe it's because you then have to provide bowls and spoons? (Mine don't actually like jelly.)
I love jelly
So do I :-)
I think that because lots of parties for kids are now in hired halls, they are just not used to having jelly and ice cream for dessert!.......And so they don't expect it, and some have never had it either!.........my grandsons aren't keen, they'd rather have a fruit yoghurt!.......sign of the times, but I still love Jelly and Ice cream!........

I don't think I have ever had jelly and ice cream together but I do remember my gran making a pink blancmange rabbit, surrounded by chopped up green jelly for grass and raisins for rabbit poo!
You could get them to eat more sandwiches if you use small biscuit or sweet cutters to cut them into interesting shapes
