I hope pinkcowprint is not off in the kitchen-heating up her rice.... :-(
I agree that it should of gone in the fridge sooner, but I'm always reheating rice in the micro,as advised with a sprinkle of water.Just cannot manage a whole chicken fried rice portion in one go and I have lived to tell the tale!
I've heated up left over rice loads of times...
Admittedly I always put mine in the fridge immediately, but I suspect it's all a bit overcautious. Anyone here actually been ill because of reheated rice ?
its funny I remember when I was a kid people used to reheat curries and rice all the time

Sounds lovely Helen. I must try it sometime ;-)
We have this discussion on here every three months or so. ...and there will always be plenty who say"I've reheated my rice plenty of times...". That's fine...*if* you store it properly, know where you got it from, and the particular rice does not carry the pathogen.
*But"...if you are unlucky enough to get a bad batch,or you've not stored it correctly....you'll be VERY ill.
And you'll never re-heat any rice ever again.

At least you lived to tell the tale... ;-)
I always got told its bad to put food in fridge when its hot/warm. And yes it was me that got in trouble before for using the slang word :-( I always heat up chinese next day. I dont even put in fridge I just leave it in box in microwave.
I posted about deaths and a near death episode for a friend in Feb after they ate dodgy rice from a takeaway. I baled out of the thread because people were arguing the toss about reheating rice. It's make your own mind up time...
I just ask, is reheating a bit of cheap rice worth risking your health to the point you could die or have some of your intestines or bowel removed?
What are left overs ?

I never have any - maybe that is why I am fat !
I have re-heated rice many times and it's always been left at room temperature. I've never had any problems, but after reading some of these posts, I may not do it again.
if you have re-heated rice many times, why would you, on the say of a handful of faceless strangers, stop doing so?
