Ooops - since opening 2 years ago
I thought it was demolished er earlier on today
An eyewitness said people still queued up for this ride even though there was a test run with an empty 'train' because of cracks in the structure.

Are you being srs? Adventure sports and thrill seeking come with risks.

Should we pull all trains out of service, planes from out of the sky and cars off the roads and statistically you're more likely to be involved in a car crash, train derailment or airplane crash then a rollercoaster accident.

Let's try and get some perspective and not get to hysterical.
Or "Too" even.
It opened in May 2013, making it 2 years old.

I expect it will be closed for several weeks now for extensive testing and modifications. Sounds like there was an element of human error involved. An empty carriage was sent as a test after s problem was reported. The test carriage got stuck yet another full carriage was sent off.
hate them...hate them..hate them...
I agree. You would have thought that the HSE would have shut it down before now.

came off Smiler so the should be entitled to Compo
Oh yeah, 'elf n saftey.

I guess you never ride coasters and so dont appreciate the thrill that effectively comes from danger.

Best one i went on was in Bush gardens at dusk/night. Incredible white knuckle ride.
roller coasters are supposed to be about phsyical stress and exhilaration, not about danger. People who actually court danger do it by walking tightropes across Niagara, not by riding roller coasters. Fairground rides are supposed to be 100% safe.
Maybe we should close down the M6 motorway as people are killed and injured on that as well (every day).

In fact you have more danger of getting killed and injured driving round the country in a car than you ever have riding on a roller coaster.
Danger walking tight rope know look at what happened on the horrible bgt
Yes I agree with jno: there isn't supposed to be danger in these rides is there? It's not the same thing at all as attempting a Sky Dive, a white water ride etc etc.

The thrill that comes from these rides is nothing whatever to do with actual danger is it? Or have I misunderstood drastically?
Health and Safety is the name of the game I would have thought.
I would not go on that ride if my life depended on it!!! However, I think, get it fixed, improve it and open it up for the thrill seekers!! it will be even more popular now!!

2 more accidents today, some hurt.

About time they closed the whole site down if they can't improve safety, before there's a fatality.
