Yep
For perjury - No.
It is one of the most serious offences there is; it is an offence against the justice system itself.
Didn't Jeffrey Archer get 4 years for perjury?
I think so given that the libel action is still in dispute and he hadnt received money.
Im still not convinced he actually did anything wrong. He is a master at twisting words but from what i gather the implication was that he was a 'swinger' by the NoTW -however its been determined that he didnt partake so does that make him a 'swinger'.?
Not as far as I can see.I think the knives were out for him by the 'solidarity' of factions of the SSP....we'll see -an appeal is in.
He should have got another three years for having an inverted banana shaped mouth, two years for being scottish, and another year to complete the series.

Jonathan Aitken only got 18 months.
I would say throwing a fire extinguisher of a building into a crowd below is dangerous and has a chance of killing someone. Telling fibs in court, not so dangerous.
I don't like the bloke but...............
...Serves the sex-addicted,champagne-socialist,persistant liar and champion egotist right...no sympathy for the barsteward whatsoever....
Dris - The result of the case has nothing, as such, to do with it.

He sued the NOTW, lied to prove his case, It would of been the same if he had lost.

You take an oath or affermation in court to tell the truth and its legally binding. If you don't tell the truth you are subverting justice.

I am sure New Judge could explain it far better, but it nothing to do with the actual result of the case.
Check Theland..lol

What has he gained 'if' he did commit perjury -nothing at all.Its not like he altered a murder trial is it?
Don't hold back now WShee.
...I certainly wont,micmak...hes a disgrace to Scotland...
Sorry but Wshee -what the hell did any of your first post have to do with him being jailed for perjury?

DTD -thanks for explaining.I do understand the charge of perjury and its implications.Just not sure if this has been a witch hunt and whether he did lie on oath when he denied partaking in any activities in the 'club'-he has admitted being there but there is a difference.
His missus should have gobbed him
T S, problem is he just does not know when to stop !!!!!he will be out in about 9 months. where at one time i found him sensible and trustworthy, i no longer do.
Expand Theland -given him a BJ or shouted at him?
2 years for being scottish theland are you a racist or just anti sweaty socks?
His missus should have given him a Glescae kiss...and then cut his (probably)swollen gonads off....
Question Author
Watching Taggart last night the wee detective gave a suspect a Glasgae kiss. Then another peeler give him a knee in the groin. You somehow don't expect the police to act like that.
Wshee do you have to show Scots up? Thought it was my job on here....
Calm yer jets missus -jeezo !
