i am in a legal dispute with the owner of the property next door . today he offered me a drink over the garden fence to try and sort things out , the discsuuion ended up quite heated and i ended it regretfuly quite agresivly in verbal terms . he stated he had recorded the conversation .. is this legal ?

If he recorded the conversation without your knowledge or consent, it is not admissable as any kind of 'evidence' of anything so dont worry about that.

It sounds as though your relationship with your neighbour is going downhill and, dare I say it, your temperament may not be helping, based on what you say.

Without knowing what the actual problem is, its hard to offer guidance, but It may be best to write down your issues in the form of a letter to your neighbour, suggest a possible compromise solution that may work for you both, apologise for the language / outburst and suggest that you both try to discuss it again.

many thanks for your reply . i must of painted a bad picture of myself ,, not that bad honest , the dispute is with lawyers and i am happy for it to run its time , it has been a long and messy dispute and the big problem i have is that this guy tells alot of miss truths and beleives them .. we are at the stage of going to court . my lawyer has asked for his evidance he has claimed he has , but he has refused to submit it . i have already done most of the things you mentioned ,, aagin thanks for the advice
