I'm doing a buffet for 100 people and would like some ideas for the desserts. They would need to be fairly simple and not too expensive. Thanks!

homemade icecream is always a good idea (at least in countries where summer lasts longer than ten minutes. where do you live, sassy?). take loads of frozen raspberries, some double cream (the amount depends on how rich you want the icecream to be) and sugar, put it all in a blender, switch it on and wait for the mixture to become a creamy and extremely delicious paste. just dont blend it too long or it will get too runny.
Something simple like a platter of (warm?) cookies (chocolate, oatmeal raisin, smarties/MandMs, ginger, cherry and coconut etc) or cupcakes with different icing toppings goes down well

Individual trifles or tiramisu in wine glasses is also fun but you will need to refrigerate 100 glasses!
You could buy a load of little merangue nests, put out lots of different fruits, cream, toffee sauce, maple syrup, icecream, chopped nuts, grated chocolate, jelly sweats, fudge pieces, smarties etc and let people make their own concoctions!
Chocolate fondue is great. Just have the fondue simmering away and provide fresh fruit, marshmallows etc. It's fun and tastes positively orgasmic!
individual chocolate mouses. very cheap and easy to easy but everyone loves them. esp. when they're really rich.
