I have been paying maintenance to my ex wife every week and have the children stay with me on alternate weekends and some holidays. I am happy to pay my way for my children but now there is alternative financial help from her new husband, I would like to know if I can reduce what I pay. Many thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully reply.

i dont think it would matter is she lived with a millionare tbh as they dont work out her income it is all based on yours.so it will be the same
Yes. You pay to support YOUR children.
Agree with the above two replies- no matter her own financial arrangements you are paying for your children.
Agree with all three answers above. They are your children and regardless of your wife's new circumstances, you should continue to pay the same amount.

Thank you, and just to be clear, I am happy to pay for MY children and actually pay more each week than was agreed.
Then pay what was agreed rather than the higher amount???
It would be wise to discuss this with your x wife. I see your point actually. I know that you should pay 15% of your income for one child and 30% for two children. But as she has a new husband he should be contributing to their financial wellbeing too. Why don't you discus paying the same but paying a % of it into your childrens bank account that they can only withdraw when they are 21yrs perhaps..
daddyman will soon be 'exdaddyman' if ur so eager to pass the costs of ur children to another man..........u must be mad or under-age.

Certainly, brain lodged too low!
boogie,

the csa guidelines are 15% for one child, 20% for two and a maximum of 25% for three or more
A family solicitor told me it was 30% for two just yesterday (Monday) was she wrong? I ask because she was also wrong about Child Benefit I discovered after doing my own research..
Looks like she was wrong. it's 20% for two kids. Thats through csa anyways
Totally agree with the replies, my ex won't pay as I am in another relationship, it disgusts me that he relinquished his responsibilites yet claims to love his daughter.

We are not well off and although my partner does support my daughter, it proves who is the better parent in my eyes.

Yet he turns up in designer outfits, holidays, expensive nights out and lives with and supports his partners child.

His argument is, is I left him and ruined his daughters life......Yes I left the control freak who was ruining our lives. My daughter was much happier once I had the guts to do it.
