Hi, I've been told by my childminder that as my 4 year old daughter starts school in Sept, she'll be no longer able to have her. Originally, she said she could, as school children class as as 'over 5' in the numbers. Apparently, she's heard through a network that this will no longer be the case. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks.

I have just given-up child minding and I haven't heard anything about this. Your childminder probably wants to free-up the place so she can take on a child with more hours. It never fails to amaze me how mercinary and money grabbing some childminders are!

She was only going to do the school run maybe once or twice a week & poss in the hols if she had space. She also looks after my son who is younger. I'd be surprised if she had made this up tbh, as i trust her & we have always had an open & honest relationship.
Thinking laterally, does your school have any provision for before school / after school? This might ease your dilemma.

I will have to look into that. Someone else mentioned to me about checking if the pre school has a breakfast / before school club (it hasn't). It didn't occur to me to check if the school does though!
