landlord as asked for �200-00 registration fees, 1 months rent in advance and a month and halfs rent as deposit is this correct

Yes it is about right although the �200 registration is a bit on the high side. You always pay rent in advance and most charge 1 month as deposit but some charge 3 mths.

Unfortunately there is no law and landlords can charge pretty much what they want, it depends how much you want that particular house I suppose.
The 'registration fee' sounds like something an agent would charge rather than a landlord. Make sure this fee includes all the charges for references etc and that there are no other costs upfront (such as checking in costs etc). Some agents push their luck with these charges.
