New relationship.

A friend has just gone though a very costly divorce and seen most of his financial assets disappear. He is now involved in another relationship and would like this to develop more and live together. He is understandably cautious about the implications, will he need any legal advice/notice before entering into this living arrangement as he doesn't want to see what is left of his pension etc go the same way?

Pre-nuptial agreements are not legally enforcable in the UK, but MAY be taken into consideration, if he decides to marry.

If he moves a woman into his home without marrying her, she will not have the same rights as a spouse. He should not lose any of his assets, except in very exceptional circumstances:
