I'm meant to be going with guy I went on a date with on Saturday tonight do I message him if I don't hear from him or let him message me?

Ah ok, cheers newmodarmy. I'm guessing that she wanted to do a job that didn't involve having to lie to her mother about working 2 days a week that she wasn't actually working. Not to mention actually getting paid for a full time job now. It reminds me of that Simpson's episode where Homer goes out to 'work' every day, however he actually goes to Krusty Burger - eventually getting caught by Bart.

Now that she's lied about that, if she's not willing to come clean, her mother is going to wonder why she left a perfectly good full time job (which it clearly wasn't, however she doesn't know that).

I think I understand now.

Abbey: Yeah, I'm in agreement with Naomi, you need to concentrate on the job you have now, 100%.

The less lies you have to remember, the easier life is going to be alround. By that I mean, you need to just tell your mum the truth. All the lying is clearly causing you a lot of stress.

No. Telling another lie and having to remmeber what you said, is just storing up problems. You need to break the habit now.

newmodarmy: No worries, I'm glad you mentioned it, otherwise I'd have probably continued talking about it. I genuinely hadn't realised I was responding to this specific thread, I thought it was the work related one.

If you're actually excited about going on the date and seeing him, I think you should send him a message. It doesn't have to be anything serious. You could just ask if he's still up for seeing you on Saturday night.

If you aren't bothered either way, about seeing him, why not just wait to see if he messages you?

Abbey, maybe you should have just let the first guy (bearded guy) know that you weren't interested last week. You didn't, as you wanted to hedge your bets, see how things went with the new guy. Now that that has worked out OK, you're very keen to dispose of bearded guy. I'm sure you DO know what to do about him - let him know, politely, if possible that you don't want to stay in touch.

You seem to  place too much emphasis on labels. Depends on what you mean by dates and by seeing someone.  It's a feature of aspergers.
