Does anyone else out there feel that the tv/media isnt putting the same effort into providing women with something nice to look at on tv as they do for men? For example - (does anyone else find this irritating) the tv programme Des and Mel. Theres Des (has-been, knocking on the door of 70 I reckon, someone your Grandma would love) and then theres Mel (pretty young thing, probably only about 25, but not really any good at her job ). Presumably Mel is there as "eye candy" for the blokes, but what do us women get - are we expected to find Des attractive - (not really that should be about looks anyway, but if its not then why didnt they choose older women) How many times do you switch on the telly to watch a programme and theres an average looking bloke but with good tv skills, then theres a lovely looking girl with average tv skills. I think we're being a bit hard done by, girls.

Ha ha...your post has made me giggle and oh so true!!  I've never really thought of it before, but your right!!  Where are all the nice men out there for day time telly.... who enjoys looking at Des? not me!

Presumably Mel is there as 'eye candy' for the blokes

I would be suprised if blokes made up as much as 10% of the viewing audience of this and all the other daytime TV drivel, the content is obviously aimed at the female market.

Anyway you always have Richard & Judy to fall back on  ;)

That theory falls by the wayside when you look at Trinny and Susannah
try watching footie Maggie.....some absolutely amazing specimens to be admired.   Shame they don't take their tops off as regularly anymore, and if they do, chances are they're wearing vests or t-shirts underneath.  Booo!!!  I still have a picture of a shirtless John Collins after that bloody Scotland vs Morocco match (World Cup 98).  Memory of the game fills me with horror even now, but that picture is just fantastic.  Ultimate pin up.
As delightful a piece of totty as I find the delectable Ms Sykes, even I wouldn't pass her off as 25!! Nearer 35, I think.

I don't know what all the fuss is about . In just one day, you ladies can have the pick of, erm, Eamonn Holmes, Keith Chegwin, Des, Richard Madeley, Richard Whiteley...hmmm, I see your point.

As for Trinny and Tranny...sorry, "Susannah"...we blokes are left with that scrawny Trinny bird while you ladies get to see the ultra-butch "Susannah", proud owner of the most firmly chiselled chin this side of Dolph Lundgren. Of course, his insistence on wearing women's clothes might be a turn-off, unless you like chaps in touch with their sensitive sides.

What? Did I just blow a big secret?

Just for the record after ICEMANSAV comment, I dont actually watch any daytime telly, cant stand it, its was just that Des & Mel were are good example to prove my point.  However, if there were some more fanciable blokes on tv, I may be forced to fight my three year old for the remote control rather than settling to watch the Fimbles.

Yes I do agree with you!!  Another example... 'Footballers Wives'!!  Most of the women, pretty good totty - firm boobs and tight butts and there are the geeza's who are scrawny, pathetic looking excuses for a MAN and don't do anything to tickle yer fancy!!  The only decent thing on TV worth watching with a sexy 'thinking womans crumpet' was Dennis in Eastenders and he's b*ggered off to spain!!
It's the same with weather men/women. The women are always reasonably young and attractive whereas with men anything goes e.g. comb-overs and dodgy jumpers!

Hey leave trinny&Sussanah alone!

That is so true! The only good looking blokes on tv i can think of are Dermont O Leary when big brothers on and errm..... thats it! What's the world coming to hey

What about Ben Shepperd (Entertainment today and TV am, etc)  Showed a shot of him in his boxer's yesterday.  Very nice!  Shame I am so old!
