I mentioned in thread below that during the night I was getting mild pains. I was only noticing them after I had been down to the toilet and they were wearing off pretty quick and not coming back til I got up and went back to bed again. Ive not had nothing else since. Just got up from a little nap and believe I have just had a show.

I know the shows can happen for a week or so before labour actually begins but with the light pains as well, is it or isnt it?

As I never had any when I had my daughter, I just wondered what are your experiences of having shows?

lol yes, only for the past 3 months!

Ive told my boyfriend he may want to go collect the pram from the shop today though!
Right I have boiled some water and have clean sheets and towels at the ready so you are good to go.
Hello Psychick , a definate show coupled with on and off pains should be enough for you to think about getting checked honey. Better to know if this is the start of a labour or not . I had a show at 9am and had pains on and off all day until getting to the hosp at 9,30pm and gave birth at 10.05 pm. Please let me know what you decide to do love .

Phew, glad you are online bigmamma.
good luck whatever happens

Thanks bigmamma, I think Im going to get on with my day getting everything done just in case. Still have a few things to do and maybe make arrangements for my daughter to stay somewhere tonight if things do happen. I have got the numbers for the midwife/labour ward to hand though.

Of course, knowing me, Im likely to take a couple of paracetamols and go for a nap lol

My mum isnt going to be happy if this is it lol Shes on her way up north to my sisters for a week!
Question Author
Actually bigmamma, been thinking about the past couple of days and Ive been getting a sensation I need to go to the toilet (number two's) but not being able to go easy. Im not constipated, just dont seem to be able to go properly.

Is this connected or just coincidence?
Keep us posted if you can then Psychick sweets , keep an eye on your pains , even if you consider them mild . Take things easy , not rush round , though I know you can't relax when you have a house and family to run. xxxxxx
That is due to the pressure of babys head on your bowel Psychick , babys head must be very well down . Oh , I wish I was actually there now but that's just the midwife instinct in me ...lol.....you have got your midwife and labour ward numbers to hand haven't you . xxxxxx
Hello Psychick

Oh,my....this is so exciting-a new little one getting ready to come into the world. Whatever happens,Psychick-I wish you a speedy and safe delivery. Good luck, sweetheart xx

HI ladies, just called the labour ward and spoke to a lovely midwife. She doesnt think its quite labour yet but its definately close. Im to keep an eye on the contractions, which are all over the place at the moment, and an eye on bleeding/shows. Unless I have heavy bleeding, I dont need to call again til the contractions are longer, more intense and coming at a regular pattern or my waters break.

Ive sent my boyfriend out for food supplies lol Just trying to make arrangements for my daughter now.

I will pop on here as and when I can to keep you all updated and to help me pass time while Im waiting for it all to kick off properly!
Well done Psychick , glad you have been advised to watch for any more bleeding , waters breaking , and timing of pains and tightening which may have progressed to labour contractions . Thankyou for your update sweetie . xxxxxxx
Oooooh how exciting!!! Another little cutie to welcome into the world. I hope if this is labour it all goes well (and quick) for you.xxx
Question Author
Rather annoyingly, things have slowed down so Im about to go for a walk to see if they start up again. I have had a second show though so Im assuming thats a good sign things wont stop altogether.
