folic acid

i have ben told to take folic acid tablets and was wondering if i take it already. i do have a multi-vitamin tablet which has 200.0ug in which says is 100% RDA. Is this enough?

I took a brand called Pregnacare which is specially fomulated for women who are pregnant or trying to conceive.
I think your best bet would be to ask your pharmicist or GP for some advice. x

If you are trying to concieve or are pregnant then 400mg is the amount you should have, you can get just a folic acid supplement or take Preganacare etc
is the multivitamin you are taking a pregnancy one? There are some vitamins that should not be taken in high doses during pregnancy. The RDA for a pregnant woman is probably higher too.

thanks. went to the supermaket and got a multi-vitamin especially for pregnancy and before by sanatogen. will stop taking my normal multi-vitamin.
