Ah, I've just posted how I concur (on the other thread covering this saga).
''Most corrupt organisation in the world '' TTT ? I thought you reserved that title for the EU ?
Good - if only as a matter of principle. How they deem the poppy to be a political symbol is beyond me.
not sure the principle will be applauded by many, when the resultant FIFA point deductions eliminates both teams from the competition.

they are on a par eddie but I think FIFA edge it!

let them do their worst mushroom, we'll be out of whatever competition at some point anyway. We are pretty terrible at soccer.
Quite TTT, just what I put on the other post. We are going nowhere so time to make a principled stand.

That daft woman at FIFA is tying to make it political something which is not and never has been.
Sorry just realized other post was on another site.
Well done FIFA and SFA.
//Well done FIFA //

were you playing your irony card there, YMB?
Deducting points so that England do not qualify is an excellent idea. Well done FIFA.
Good, with a bit of luck corrupt FIFA mandarins will attempt to punish the FA and SFA, giving us the opportunity to say " well in that case we withdraw from the competition in Russia (again awarded in a rigged ballot). Result we give Putin and FIFA the elbow.
I'll tell you what will happen:
England and Scotland, and possibly Wales, will wear the armbands and after a lot of huff and puff nothing will happen. FIFA allowed the Republic of Ireland to wear Easter Rising commenorations on their shirts not so long ago, although they weren't World Cup games. I think they'd have difficulty explaining away that one of it came to a showdown
Although FIFA's position is ridiculous, you have to wonder how this situation has arisen - again. Weren't there talks going on about it ages ago? FIFA's posturing on this is well known and the fixtures were arranged months ago
The Football Association of Wales has not yet grown a backbone.
Why not offer FIFA a wad of cash to wear the poppy.
Will probably have more effect?
This has the makings of a momentous day, people are actually realising that there are things more important than football.
There may be hope for mankind yet.

They have not said that they will obey FIFA. They are are just not saying they will defy them. Best option.
// Why not offer FIFA a wad of cash to wear the poppy.

That's essentially what will happen. They'll wear it and then have a fine imposed - probably payable in used banknotes delivered in a plain brown envelope.
