Its not something i would choose for my daughter however i do see baby girls with pierced ears mostly with little hoops in.. My question is how do they stop their babys ripping the earings out ? I try and put my daughters hair up in bunches and within 5 minutes she has pulled her hair out so i would think a baby with pierced ears would do the same thing ? Anyone know ?

i dont agree with babies and toddlers having their ears pierced as it not their choice but what their parents want. they should leave well alone untill the child is old enough to decide this is what they want. as to your question i dont how how to stop them , i've seen babies pulling their ears when thre tired or teething so i no idea .
I had mine done at 6 weeks old which was 23 years ago and I had studs in mine for the best part of 10 years to stop me ripping them out.I am glad my mum had them done but if I had children I wouldnt do it. Alot of places wont actually pierce babies now.

Maybe by the time the hoops are put in they are so used to the studs they leave them alone.
I am amazed that it is allowed until the child is say 16, a bit like tattoos, because it is actually going into the skin, I mean what if they have poor hygiene or make a mistake. A young girl I know got a job at Accessorize and they asked her to start piercing ears with hardly any training, luckily her mother wouldnt let her for fear of her doing something wrong and ending up being sued or something.
Aside from anything else it looks horrible seeing babies with pierced ears.
