i've heard this can cause bow legs whether its an old wives tale or not im not sure, but 2 months is awfully early to be "standing on his own two feet" lol, ask his health visitor she'll be able to give advice
My son was pushing up to standing (with support) from just 1 week old. He was cruising at 7 months and i was told by my mum that it causes bow legs. He started to walk at 9 months and at 11 months has perfect legs :)
Definately an old wives tale!
Isnt that just normal baby reflexes? for his first few weeks of life, when you hold your baby upright under the arms, he'll dangle his legs down and push against a hard surface with his feet, almost appearing to walk. But this is just a reflex -- his legs aren't nearly strong enough to hold him up -- and will disappear after two or three months.

Babies usually pull up on furniture and truly weight bear about 8 months but of course no two babies are the same and I guess we should just love them all for being little individuals!
It is an old wives tale. if they can do it themselves they are capable. My first pulled to standing at about 9 months, where as my little'un could do it a 5months on his own and started walking at 8 and a half months. Each child is different. I would say just make sure he is standing of his own accord.
Nature wouldn't let them do it if it was bad for them!!! The worst thing you could do now though is get a baby walker or bouncer, they are so bad for babies' development.
