Toilet Training Toddler

Hi,
My little girl in the last year has successfully been toilet trained and will happily wee when she needs to and we've had no accidents.
However with regards to anything other than weeing, she won't poo away from home (which I hear is quite common?) but at home will only poo in pull ups!
With toilet training initially I went at her pace and only started when she showed interest so I never worried about the pooing and pull ups but now she is nearly 4 and still won't go in the bathroom....
I got help from health visitor and she said to stop using pull ups and insist on taking her to bathroom after each meal, make it into a routine, use bubbles to distract her, let her read etc etc but no joy and no she hasn't been for nearly a week! Frustrating she has used toilet when we have been out a couple of times randomly but nothing since. She hasn't had any bad experiences either so just can't work it out!
Any ideas or advise ?

Children are often shy/embarrassed about using the bathroom. A more slow method of training is to let them use the potty where ever they want. That might be going behind a curtain or under the stairs. They will pick there own secluded spot where they feel comfortable.
Your own anxiety that they are not yet trained is detected by the child and puts more pressure on them. Nearly four is not at all late, just be a bit cool about the matter.

My granddaughter was exactly the same. When we started to get a bit anxious about her starting school, we hit on the idea of making a hole in the pull-up before it was put on, sitting her on the loo and it worked, in her eyes it was ok as she had her pull-up on. Only needed to do it three days and then she just went on the loo normally.
I've been quite relaxed about it and only recently thought maybe I should help try and move this on!
