Talking of practical jokes...

On GMTV this morning I saw a clip of a film where, for some reason, a lad & his girlfriend were on a building rooftop. He pretended to catch a ball - and subsequently tripped & fell forwards off the edge of the building.

She screamed & looked horrorstruck. When she looked over the edge, he had broken his fall with a huge inflatable and there were the previously laid out placards spelling out "Will. You. Marry." and he was holding one, grinning, that said "Me".
Do you think this was funny? I thought it was brilliant, but for one split second, that poor poor girl.....

Poor girl, think what he might do on the wedding night!
i'd have gone ballistic. Wouldn't have seen the funny side at all, and that's providing my heart could have withstood it all to begin with.

She was absolutely horrified. It could all have gone horribly wrong - funny & clever, because it all worked out, but the daft s0d could have broken his neck or worse.

(She said Yes) ;-)

if he treats the proposal like that, i bet the wedding will be riveting.

Thanks chuck - you know I can't master techno things like that. I'd missed the beginning of the vid - so didn't realise it was a party and that it was a ring he was pretending to catch and miss.
no way is right, i would have gone ballistic.
Thing is, the way the bloke falls suggests to me he has done something similar before....trained for it at least.
The wonder of the internet is that this will now be replicated by idiots all over the world who will fall incorrectly / a foot the wrong way, with disastrous consequences.

They'd definitely rehearsed for it all - the rest of the party. Just the poor finance who was oblivious.
Brilliant, i wish I thought of that!!!

When I proposed to Carakeel, I was really serious and lead her on a bit and she thought I was going to leave her, the look on her face was priceless!!

OK, i'm mean!!

Like Michael Jackson?
Practical jokes are cruel and not funny. I would have said a big NO because I would have thought I would be marrying a monster. Sorry if you think I am a grouch and a spoil sport but that's how I feel.
No nothing like Michael Jackson!!!!!! :-)
didn't see it but he sounds a complete...errrmm, idiot will do!
talking of clips from TV, on Sky News , they went to Nigeria and asked when DM was flying back to face the crisis at home, behind the commentator was a man scratching his crotch for all he was worth and looking like he was enjoying it too !
Question Author
Can we have a link bobbs, or maybe chuck will help you out like he did me. (Cannae get the hang of this computer stuff)
Starbuck, Cruel, Monster? that's a bit heavy!!

Maybe ask Carakeel if I've ever been cruel or monstrous.

Note to self: never play practical joke on Starbuck, talk about sense of humour bypass!!
I will take a look Salla :-)
RATTER! I'm not that bad, just don't like to be frightened. I suppose a gentle practical joke would be all right, like you falling out of the hammock for a start. And I probably would have said yes after an initial angry no.
