My mother and father have been seperated for about 11 years now and my father has never payed childsupport for me and my sisters.
I am wondering how i should go about backdating the money he owes us and how to get it?

i think it would be your mum that would have to go to the CSA for the money, not you.

anyone have any info?

please
your mum would have to follow it up, not you, as it is not "your" money
you can only go throught the CSA
Get the proof that he works and get your mum to give it to the csa
do you have any contact with your dad, cant you ask him why hes not paying towards your upkeep.

I cant see what a letter to the CSA from you would acheive.

I agree with bednobs, get proof he works and get your mum to pass it on
my daughter was awarded money from ex partner through the CSA in June 2009. So far she has received nothing, and every time she phones up about it, they are still "sorting it out". When she asked if it would be backdated to June, she was told that "we don't backdate it". I assume that they think that the ex partner would not have seven months of money saved up anywhere to send to her, so I don't think they will backdate money for 11 years.
Your mother is to late to claim after 15 years, she should have claimed when you were born, or a least before you were 7 years old.
If your father hasnt paid any child support for the last 11 years it is very unlikely he ever will not all dads are reliable it is not nice to hear but it is a fact of life.
i asked the csa the exactly same question about backdating and they told they do not back date ???? hope this answers your question this was only last thursday 4/2/10
I am afraid until the CSA makes a judgement on what a father should be paying, the father is not due to make a payment. So no backdating 11 years because 11 years ago there was no CSA judgment that he should be paying.

I hope that makes sense.
No good news for you Sarah, but well done for being prepared to try to support your Mum. As somebody else said, I think your best aproach is to tackle your Dad and ask him why, if you have contact with him. It may not get you anywhere, but at least he then knows what you think!
