I would just like to thank you for posting the link to wowzone in the thread you answered ealrlier. The poem "Death is nothing at all" is a poem I have been searching for ever since someone sent it to me when my husband died and then I mislaid it. I was just browsing and out of curiosity clicked on to the link to see what the poem was you had at your brother's funeral and lo and behold it was the one I had been looking for. It is a beautiful poem.
Thanks. Jean

I went to a funeral several years ago and there was a fantastic poem read ou.

It was as if by the deceased person telling the family and friends how to remember him.

Anyone got any ideas what it might be, or links to poems that I can trawl through?

Thanks also for that link Roughquest
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Good God, I think that is it RQ. Brilliant.

It was recited slowly and beautifully, I think by his son.

Thanks.
Im pleased to have helped, I feel all sad now....reading them
I think what really hit home on hearing it was the last two lines.
