I am currently in the process of seperating with my wife which will end in divorce. We have an 18month child and the seperation is, at the moment amicable. We both work so have paid equal contributions towards the house but am wondering if anyone knows how much roughly the split would be. My wife earns 24000pa and I earn 15000pa.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Ben

As far as I've known, the split of the house goes along the payments made in, not your salary.

So if you paid half the deposit and half th emonthly mortgage payments then you'll get half the proceeds.

Unless something else is taken into account like bill paying etc.
It would depend upon how any maintenance is treated. Options are a split of assets followed by monthly maintenance or to effectively "capitalise" the maintenance by giving your wife a larger slice of assets.
also your wife could keep the house on as a home for your son, and you can't sell if she won't.
