Are they reputable? i.e. if you miss a payment do they come round and break your legs? I am in a desperate state financially, I need to get my car fixed... and I live in a really rural area, and basically if I dont have a car am in big trouble. I guess their interest rates are sky high but so far they have been the only company that has accepted me. I am disabled by the way.

Cheers

As you know, they charge very high interest rates. But operate within the law. Is there no other way you could find the money you need?
No they won't break your legs, but you are right, borrowing from them is expensive. The company has been around for years.

Thanks guys, I haven't the money for the petrol or bus fare to go get a crisis loan, also its the third one since November so reckon they will turn me down anyway.

At least its a comfort to know they wont break my legs!! LOL!
How can you afford to run a car on benefits? i was on JSA for 6 weeks or so last year but had my redundancy and so it was not a problem, but i realised very early on that without a salary there was no chance of running a car on benefits.
if you are in real financial trouble DONT get a loan you will be worse off in the long run speak to c.a.b and they will be able to help you more
I agree with postdog and cherrychapstick. If you weren't able to save some money before now from your benefits how will you find the money in future to make the repayments? You will end up borrowing even more from someone just to pay for this loan, and you will enter a spiral of debt. The only answer in my view is to spend less, sorry.
if you think you're entitled to a Crisis Loan, that's definitely your best bet, even if you have to walk 5 miles to get it.

but phone the jobcentre first!

I would have to walk 12 miles to get it 6 miles there and 6 miles back also a lot of the road doesn't have a pavement... I know what other people are saying re getting into debt but I dont have any debts and I only need a £100. So cant see any other way.

And as for the person who said how can you afford to run a car on benefits, I live on soup mainly.
How much a week can you afford to repay? Just save it till you have the £100. Provident are just about legal load sharks that charge astronomical rates, surely if you think you can pay a loadn you can save it till you have £100.

Why don't you sell your car then you wouldn't have the excessive travel expenses! or you could try living within your means, everytime you borrow money you have a lump sum but you then have less money each week because of the repayments! so in a few weeks you will be after another loan. If you can't live within youe means then how can you afford to pay back a loan?

You are out of control according to what you said you have had three crisis loans since November that is why you dont think they will let you have another one so you are now thinking of using Provident. You cant afford a loan
