We cannot afford to save!
Long term saving about 40% (includes tax relief on pensions)
Short term saving about 10%
Me = None

OH = About 50%
I save a secret £200 a month. I call it my running away from home fund....just in case lol
that's great, and you are funny, Mrs. O! :-)
Me - nothing. Haven't done for years. It's all I can do to keep the bills up to date...I have no rainy day money & I'd need a damn sight more than £200 for running away money!

The BF - GOK. (God only knows: nothing to do with Gok Wan). I think he's more than adequately set up & comfortable, has no need to think about bills, never mind worry about them, lucky s0d. He might be, in fact he is, a half-millionnaire, but I'm too polite to enquire. Or beg.....!!
When I was working I was saving about £500 per month.................now I'm a pensioner I'm spending it............
Blimey craft, you must get through a lot of Werthers Originals for £500
Good on ya Craft......

I still struggle to understand why my Grandad doesn't spend his money. He's a millionaire......but tight as Fluff.
Oh, £500 a month. I wish.....

Once upon a time I had financial savvy and no debts. T'was a long long time ago in another world than the one I inhabit now :-(

but hey - I'm happy X
LOL no.....it's the gin that's expensive.........
I started saving monthly with BT share-save scheme and they took it out of your wages each month.....there was a new scheme each year and I think I started with £50.00 a month and I increased it each year........at the end of the 5 year term you could have buy company shares with it at hugely discounted prices. I used to use all the savings and interest to buy the shares and sell them the next day...couldn't lose.
i squirrel away what i can but its not much :-(
Trouble is, I have no willpower whatsoever. If I did manage to save a few hundred, at the first temptation I'd splash out and buy something with it. I did have an ISA once, a long time ago, I even had a NHS Pension... but unfortunately that all had to be cashed in when I left the ex and had to start again with my daughter.
I don't regret it though.
What's money? Pah !!
fluff I didn't start to be able to save like that until I was in my 40's.....before then it was very hit and miss.....
Don't know, really.

Whatever's left, I suppose.
