Opening Bank account in different name

Can I open a bank account in my baby grandaugthers name? I only manage to save about £15 a month and that is not always guaranteed, so when I've filled her money box up I would like to deposit it somewhere. If I open one, will it have to go in my name or can it be hers, so she can draw out when she is older without having to go through me ? TIA
